Dr. Huang serves as Vice President, Better World, Ltd, manufacturer of Electric Vehicle Charge Stations for the EV industry and executive consultant to ZAP Jonway and Cathaya Capital. He is experienced in R&D, Technology and Operations and business development.
Dr. Victor Huang has over 30 years experience in high technology industrial management, having served as VP of engineering in 5 startups in Silicon Valley, established a microelectronics institute for the Singapore government, and has senior level strategic leadership skills and tactical operations capabilities in R&D and industrial organizations. Product accomplishments over Dr. Huang’s career covers products such as microprocessors, wireless basestations, mobile consumer electronics such as PDAs, mobile cell phones, web tablets, e-Readers and recently in the Electric Vehicle (EV) space, including EV infrastructure.
Dr. Huang is also presently VP and Technology Executive for Cathaya Capital, assisting portfolio companies with operations and management. Previous positions held were VP/SVP of R&D and Operations in Spring Design (high end dual screen e-Readers); Skipper Wireless Labs Inc (proprietary broadband wireless); Auctor Corp (PDA, web tablets); interWAVE Communications (GSM basestations); Deputy Director and Business Development Manager, Institute of Microelectronics (IME) Singapore; R&D Manager, Bell Laboratories.
Dr. Huang holds a BS (EE) from the Virginia Military Institute, a MS and PhD (EE) from the University of Virginia and 4 patents. He is author or co-author of over 30 IEEE and professional publications, and very active in IEEE professional activities in numerous capacities. He is an IEEE Senior Life member, Life AdCom member of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES), IES Technical Committee Chair of Standards, IES representative to the IEEE Standards Board. He is also a member of the IEEE Transportation Electrification Initiative Committee, and the IEEE Transportation Electrification Standards Committee.
