John B. Kenney

Dr. John B. Kenney earned his BS and Ph.D. degrees, both in Electrical Engineering, from the University of Notre Dame. He received the MSEE degree from Stanford University. He is a Principal Researcher at the Toyota InfoTechnology Center in Mountain View, CA, USA, where he leads a vehicular networking research team. He represents Toyota in cooperative projects between the Vehicle Safety Communications (VSC) consortium and the US Department of Transportation. He also represents Toyota in DSRC-related standards groups at IEEE, SAE, and ETSI. He has been an active participant in IEEE 1609 standards since 2007. His contributions to IEEE 802.11 and 1609 standards development have been recognized by the IEEE Standards Association. He served as Co-General Chair of the ACM VANET Workshops in 2011 and 2012. His current research is in wireless congestion control, performance of vehicular networks, and spectrum sharing technologies.
