Director, the Institute for Mobility Research, BMW Group
Dr. Irene Feige heads the Institute for Mobility Research in Munich, a research establishment of BMW Group. The Institute, founded in 1998, explores cross-sectoral challenges for the mobility of the future. All modes of transport are taken into account and research is interdisciplinary. Among other future orientied studies, future scenarios for the transport sector in the next 20 years represent the main research area of the Institute. The Institute's Board of Trustees consists of representatives from Deutsche Bahn, Lufthansa, MAN, The World Bank and BMW as well as renowned scientists.
Before joining the Institute in 2006 Irene Feige was an assistant professor at the Institute for Public Finance at University of Innsbruck. Irene Feige holds a Ph.D. in economics, her dissertation thesis "Transport, Trade and Economic Growth – Coupled or Decoupled?" was published by Springer.
